Q. Do I have to have an MC# to sign up with you as a carrier?
A. We ask that you provide us with your MC# when you sign up with the service. your MC# is displayed for those shipping freight as a link to the FMCSA to verify you are a qualified carrier.

Q. What is an MC#?
A. MC# stands for Motor Carrier Number. An MC# is assigned by the FMCSA to carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders who have registered and been authorized to operate in interstate commerce. For an MC# to remain active, the entity must maintain the proper levels of insurance or surety bond and keep that information current with the FMCSA.

Q. How do you tell the difference between brokers and shippers on your site?
A. A broker or freight forwarder is identified by an MC number on the detailed load information page. We also have their company type listed on that page. You can also search loads posted by "Company Type".

Q. Do you only have cheap freight on your board?
A. We have a wide range of brokers, shippers, and third parties who all actively post loads on our website. This results in a wide range of rates on available loads. Keep in mind that rates on almost every load are negotiable and that some companies that have lower rates offer "quick pay" programs which sometimes offset the difference in payment.

Our "Urgent Response Board" was set up to handle time sensitive freight that generally pays a higher rate. People posting to this board are instructed to only post on "Urgent Response" if they are paying an "expedite" rate. Our Bid Board also has expedited higher paying freight posted daily.

Q. Do I have to tell you if I take a load from your board?
A. Absolutely not! Our system is based on unlimited usage, therefore there are no individual fees associated with covering loads on our board or posting your trucks.

Q. Who pays the shipping bill if I accept a Load from your board?
A. All fees, rates, schedules and routes are negotiated between the shipper and carrier. ExpediteLoads.com does NOT participate in this transaction.

Q. What companies are posting the loads?
A. Manufactures, brokers and logistics services to name a few. It is not uncommon to see loads posted from other General & Expedited Carrier companies as well.

Q. What's a credit score? Where do you get these?
A. Credit scores on ExpediteLoads.com are provided by FreeBrokerCredit.com, a well-known credit reporting service. Scores are updated real time all day long. The break down of the scores is as follows:

Too new to rate 0
High risk 1-39
Increased risk 40-59
Moderate risk 60-79
Lowest risk 80-100

The major factors used in determining a company's credit score are the number of years in business, the company's credit references, credit history, and their average payment trend in days.

You also receive free reports & days to pay. Scores and links to get more credit info is listed on each load we have posted.

Q. What does N/A mean?
A. When a company's score shows as N/A, it generally means that they have just recently created their account with us and have not been included in an update from FreeBrokerCredit. It may also mean that the company has not been actively using their account and as a result, their score was not detected in the last update. Finally, it may mean that the company is fairly new and FreeBrokerCredit has not started a credit report on them yet.

Q. Why am I not getting any responses on my load postings?
A. There may be several reasons why you are getting little response to your loads postings. First, have you checked what credit score is posted on your account? Many carriers will base their decision to call on a load based on the credit rating of the company.

Second, how often do you update the loads on our system? When searching for loads there is an option to only view the loads that were posted within the last 1 or 2 hours. Many of our members make the assumption that if a load has been posted for more than 2 to 4 hours, it has been covered. It is helpful to be sure your postings remain accurate and updated throughout the day.

Third, have you included load details, dimesions, etc. in the load comment box? If not, many carriers don't want to waste time calling on several differrent loads to see if they can carry it.

The more information on the load you can give, the more calls you will receive.

Another problem may be that your loads have incorrectly spelled cities or states in the postings. A carrier will not be able to see your postings if they are not listed correctly.

Finally, make sure that the company information you have on file with us is not outdated or incorrect. If a carrier sees the wrong MC number on file with us they cannot check on a company's bond or authority information, which may deter them from contacting you. Also, if your contact information is not correct then they simply are unable to get in touch with you.
